SHOEI’s background dates back to 1958 when its founder Eitaro Kamata began designing the first helmet models.
Further products were included in the range so that by the end of the 60’s, the brand-name SHOEI landed on the European markets and was soon perceived as a high-quality brand.
SHOEI soon became market-leader in helmets occupying the medium-high sector of the market manufacturing highly technological and comfortable products.
SHOEI components and helmets are entirely produced and assembled in Japan availing themselves of the most innovative and modern existing technologies together with the manual expertise of specialised workers. Each helmet is submitted to strict proof-tests examining the product in all its minimum detail guaranteeing high quality standards.
The company has always been recognized for the numerous innovations that have been introduced in this market, simultaneously paying great attention to safety-requirements.

The models produced for the European market are in compliance with and as prescribed by European standards ECE R22-5 and have achieved manufacturing standards that go far beyond the minimum requirements stipulated.
